Thousands of refugees stranded on the Greek side of Bogordica and are waiting to cross the border into Macedonia

-

In Greece the mass panic is increasing, as the State believes it will be stuck with thousands of refugees and migrants.

The Greek media have been reporting that at the border-crossing Bogorodica, or to be more precise Idomeni, which is on the Greek side, is extremely crowded because Macedonian authorities are only letting a small number of refugees and migrants through.

According to number from the Greek Police, last night 750 refugees were let through the border, while the camp at Idomeni, which holds 750 refugees, will have to wait for their turn to pass and carry on with their journey towards Europe. However, the number drastically increases only by a few kilometres down the road at the petrol station at Polykastro which has become an unofficial refugee camp. The unofficial camp holds up to 4000 people, who are all waiting to be transferred to the camp in Idomeni, and then through to Macedonia.

The Greek Government announced yesterday that in cooperation with the Army they will intensify their efforts to build the 5 refugee reception centres and check points for the registration of refugees , a step which the Greek Government took after the European Commission published a negative report regarding how the country is dealing with the migrant  crisis, which lead to statements from European Representatives suggested that Greece be excluded from the Schengen-Zone.

Even though Greece denied such speculations, opposition parties have warned that being excluded from the Schengen Zone is a real threat, and something has to be done to prevent it from happening.
