This morning the highest pollution rates were in Skopje’s Centre, Bitola and Tetovo

The Ministry of Environmental and Physical Planning’s measuring stations in the capital’s centre, Bitola and Tetovo showed extremely high levels of air pollution.

In Lisiche, Gazi Baba, the University Rectory, Kicevo and Veles, measuring stations showed very high concentrations of the carcinogenic particle PM10. This morning high levels of pollution were found in Miladinovce, Kocani and Kavadarci.

In Tetovo this morning, the measuring stations measured 300 micro-grams per cubic metre, which is approximately six times more than the allowed limit, which is 50 micro-grams. In Bitola the stations measured 200 micro-grams of PM10 particulates per cubic metre, or to be more specific it’s four times more than allowed limit

Measuring stations in Skopje showed that in Lisiche at 9:00 am PM10 particles were at 150 micrograms per cubic meter, in Gazi Baba – 160, the Centre – 200 and in Karpos – 170 micro-grams per cubic metre.
