The forthcoming local elections on the 15th of October are important for the future of Macedonia as prosperous, stabile democracy, completely integrated into the Euroatlantic institutions, announced toay the US Embassy in Macedonia and has called upon the citizens to come out and cast their votes.
-We encourage citizens, civil society, and the media to report all concerns about election irregularities to the appropriate authorities. Government and local officials should fully investigate all allegations of abuse and take appropriate measures. In the end, parties, government institutions, journalists, and citizens will determine the credibility of the process through their actions -said the prais release.
The Embassy stresses that the elections are a crucial part of every democracy and that they are supporting the efforts for enocuraging citizens to cast their vote.
“The U.S. Embassy will actively participate in the monitoring effort, along with other international and local observers,” said the Embassy.
