Students from the”Student Plenum” asked the University “St. Cyril and Methodius” Rector, Velimir Stojkovski for his opinion on the construction of two new faculties on the campus of Cyril and Methodius, which will be built and projected in the Baroque style.
They published a photograph on their “Facebook” profile, where they call on the Rector to announce his position on the matter.
Students held a debate yesterday on the cutting of the trees and the preparing the ground for UCAM for construction of the Faculty of Physical Education and Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering.
From the “Student Plenum” they said the decision to build these two new faculty buildings is problematic in many ways.
“According to our knowledge, the Senate did not even decided to build new facilities on the campus of St Cyril and Methodius. Therefore, we believe that the imposed decision on the construction of these facilities is breaking into the University autonomy. Secondly, the location is problematic because the campus has problems with the number of students. If one adds the students and these two new buildings, the traffic situation will worsen and it will destroy much of the green areas and trees around the University”, said Orhan Sulejmani from the “Student Plenum.”
