The Special Prosecutor’s Office announced a press conference tomorrow at 12 o’clock without specifying what actually it is going to be about.
However, given that the SPO’s deadline for submitting charges expires in two days, it is expected that the prosecution at tomorrow’s press conference will announce which of theor open investigations will they file charges for.
At the latest press conference by the SLI on May 22nd, the prosecutors announced that they had opened three new investigations, “Thaler” – for the illegal financing of VMRO-DPMNE, “Tractory” – for Chinese commissions for the Miladinovci-Stip and Kicevo-Ohrid highways and “Lawn” – for weekend homes in Zelenikovo that were illegally built.
The Special Prosecutor, Katica Janeva, has repeatedly asked Parliament to extend the deadline for filing charges in the past period.
The coordinator of the SDSM parliamentary group, Tomislav Tuntev, announced that the parliamentary majority will submit the amendments to the Law on Protected Witnesses and the Law on the SPO, for extending the deadline for filing indictments this week.
