The SEC continue to cleanse the electoral roll

-

The State Election Commission (SEC) today at 11:00 am will hold a regular meeting for the purging of the voters’ list. “Meta” was informed that the members of the SEC, are continuing work as usual, and are examining disputed voters found on the list.

Last night the SDSM leader Zoran Zaev announced that today he will meet with SEC members from his party, and they will decide whether their members will withdraw from the Commission like the ministers and deputy ministers from the interim Government.
“One of the more certain decisions is that they will be withdrawn”, said Zaev.

Yesterday with eight votes “for” and none “against”, the SEC approved the handling of the report on disputed voters caught by the cross checks and with field checks.

They stated that during the field check, from 87,128 people, 37 435 were not home.

The SEC has asked approximately 4,000 people to be removed from the voters list, which according to records from the Ministry of Interior are people who have been confirmed to have died.

The MOI has still not fully processed data of more than 100,000 people who have emerged as ‘questionalbe’ in cross-checks of the databases.

The SEC members from the SDSM believe that the electoral list is not cleansed, while members of the VMRO-DPMNE believe that only little work is left on the electoral roll.
