At a meeting between the SDSM leader Zoran Zaev and their coalition partners, they unanimously decided that the opposition will not withdraw their members from the State Election Commission.
“The SDSM and its partners are determined that elections on June 5 are not possible, nor will we participate in such irregular elections. However, the SDSM and its coalition partners will ensure our presence and control over the purification process of the electoral roll in order to prevent manipulation and abuse, which Nikola Gruevski’s government are attempting to do”, reads the statement by the SDSM.
The SDSM and its coalition partners have considered ways for further joint action, following the decision not to participate, as they say in “planned misleading, unfair and undemocratic elections.”
“In this regard, the SDSM and the partners of the opposition have decided tomorrow to sign a platform for a democratic Macedonia, whose main goal is a free Macedonia. The SDSM and its coalition partners are strongly determined to unite, and with uncompromising action will defend the legal and constitutional functioning of the state, justice, truth and the future of the Republic of Macedonia” concluded the statement by the SDSM.
