The resolution for the dissolution of Parliament will be signed on April 15 by Veljanoski

President of Parliament Trajko Veljanoski decided to dissolve Parliament, and to sign off on April 15. The statement from the Veljanoski’s Cabinet says that this decision was made so elections on June 5 would be fair and democratic.

“According to the decision that Parliament be dissolved, I, as Speaker, as is my duty and in accordance with my constitutional prerogatives in the calling for new elections. I decided to sign this decision on April 15, and elections will be held on June 5th 2016, with the sole intention of ensuring conditions necessary for fair and democratic elections. On this occasion I would like to appeal to everyone, the institutions, the political parties, to contribute to the upcoming early parliamentary elections so that it is held in a fair and democratic atmosphere, which, will once again reaffirm the respect for shared European values” read a statement from Mr Veljanoski.

Yesterday, just before midnight Veljanoski dissolved Parliament and thanked all the MPs for all their past work.

After the dissolution of Parliament, the SDSM leader Zoran Zaev said at a press conference said that the SDSM will not participate in “criminal elections”.
