The Przhino Agreement partially implemented, however lots of work remains to be done

The working groups of the political parties today resumed negotiations on the issue of media reform, as part of the Przhino Agreement, and the Framework Agreement.

MPs yesterday voted the composition of the new Government, and a few days ago adopted the election legislation.

However, there are still a number of steps that need to be done for the agreement can be fully implemented

  • Agreement for the media in the working groups.
  • Special prosecutor Katica Janeva started work on the 9th of November, and her first report is due to be submitted in Parliament in six months.
  • Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski should resign 100 days before the election.
  • After the enactment of the electoral laws, Parliament has five days to call for elections and to choose a new President and members of the State Election Commission. SEC will have nine members, and as agreed by the working groups, the commission will be composed by three members from the government, three members of the opposition and three experts.
  • As agreed at the meetings of the working groups before the election will have to be done and cleaning up the voter list. Part of the “crackdown on the list” will be conducted out on the field and cross section checks through data bases of state institutions will be provided as part of the list cleansing.
  • There is still not set a specific deadline set however working groups are due to debate the implementation of the Ohrid Framework Agreement.
