Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski and a government delegation comprised of Deputy PM for Economic Affairs, Vladimir Pesevski, Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Popovski and Deputy Minister of Economy, Christijan Delev are visiting the People’s Republic of China.
Prime Minister Gruevski will attend the 4th Summit of Heads of Governments of Central-Eastern Europe and China (16 + 1) 5. The Economic and Trade Forum in Suzhou, which opens today and where more than 1,000 representatives are expected to attend from the business sectors of the 16 countries of the CEE countries and China.
The summit will be opened by Prime Minister of the People’s Republic of China, Li Kechiang and apart from Macedonia other delegations participating from Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania.
The Initiative for the summits derives from China, which dates back to 2012, which basically consists of the will for cooperation, ventures into more specific infrastructure projects and rapid economic development.
During the visit a meeting has been scheduled for the Prime Minister with the President of China, Xi Jinping I, and a business forum in Beijing where will be presented with investment opportunities in Macedonia and resources available to Macedonia as a country with a favourable business climate.
