After mass protests in Tetovo, the people of Skopje have decided to protest against the enormous air pollution and are calling for the authorities to take concrete measures to solve it. The protest, under the motto “We can’t breathe” will start tomorrow at 12 am in front of the premises of the City of Skopje.
At the protest the people will prompt the authorities to take a series of measures against the chemicals polluting the air.
They want to prevent the use of tires as fuel in production, to incorporate filters at industrial sites to move forward with the gasification of Skopje and immediately stop any logging.
The protest is being co-organized by the community of eco-activists “Skopje smog alarm” and the civil movement “Together for the protection of greenery in Karposh 4”.
Today at 14:00 in Gazi Baba, Lisiche and the Centre very high levels of PM10 particles were found, especially in Karposh. In the Centre and Karpos very high levels of PM2,5 particles were found.
