The court denies that the new court schedule is a purge because of the SPO

-

Basic Court Skopje 1 i.e. the acting president Tatjana Mihajlova, has issued a new yearly court schedule according to which, a certain number of judges, who worked on criminal offenses were transferred to the misdemeanor department.

Otherwise, the court in Skopje is authorized for processing the cases of the Special Public Prosecution.

Among the judges who were moved is Vesna Dimishkova, who until now was a judge for preliminary hearings, and is now at the Juvenile Delinquency Department. Dimishkova is the judge who signed the warrant which last year the Special Public Prosecution entered the premises of the Administration of Security and Counter Intelligence.

The judge Slavica Andreevska, who put the Mayor of Bitola into custody, a suspect in the SPO’s “Transporter” case, was moved to prosecute cases according to the old Law for criminal procedures.

Among the judges who were transferred to the misdemeanor department were very experienced judges such as Dragan Nikolovski, Sedat Redžapagikj, Olja Ristova and Marija Kletnička- Markovska.

Basic Court Skopje reacted to these transfers by issuing a statement this afternoon. They said they were astonished by the interest and the issuing of untrue and unverified information regarding the yearly court schedule which according to the Law for Courts, the president or the acting president of every court is obliged to determine.

The court stated that the yearly schedule is determined “for the purpose of court efficiency and to benefit the citizen’s interests”.
