The Macedonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) reacted to the major protest yesterday in Thessaloniki, where a Macedonian flag was burned. Despite building confidence measures by the two governments, unfortunately, there are still incidents of people still living in the past, said the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“The entire region and our two countries are on the right track of good neighborly relations that will result in fulfilling the Euro-Atlantic integrations of our country, as well as the stability and economic development of the entire region. Unfortunately, isolated incidents like yesterday in Thessaloniki still occur, caused by individuals and groups who still live in the past and in policies of confrontation and national isolation, whose actions we condemn as hate and impatient politicians. The majority of citizens want to develop close and friendly relations”, reads the reaction from the MFA.
