The Inquiry Committee was left with no witnesses or daily agenda today

-

Owing to the non-show of Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski at the Inquiry Commission into the scandal surrounding the wire-tapped material, Committee members from the SDSM and VMRO-DPMNE debated as to the rights and wrongs of whether the Prime Minister not attending the meeting before moving on to debating the agenda for the meeting of the Commission. In addition, Prime Minister Gruevski postponed his own attending the Commission for Monday, and the Finance Minister Zoran Stavreski announced that instead of tomorrow, members of the Commission will now appear on December 17. Chairman of the Inquiry Commission Petre Shilegov said he had been informed that two witnesses who were scheduled to attend the session would now not be doing so.
“There is no notification from Gruevski for his attendance or not at the meeting, the deadline for submission was until December the 7th. Inquiry Committee is a body of the Parliament and the people have to come when they are called, not when they want. This Inquiry Committee is not a subsidiary of a private company. I understand that you do not want the work of this committee to start. This is the hypocrisy of the VMRO-DPMNE”, said Shilegov.
