During next year, the public enterprise for state roads plans to reconstruct the highway sections Hipodrom-Miladinovci, Miladinovci-Petrovec, and Petrovec – Hipodrom. The access roads into Skopje from the East are in the length of 28 km and for their reconstruction, a loan was taken from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
-We expect to announce a call for a tender either in September or October and during 2020 all construction works to be completed – said the Public enterprise for state roads’ representatives for Meta Agency.
At the moment, the Architectural design office Prostor from Kumanovo is working on the project’s documentation about the planned reconstruction on the three sections for which assets in the amount of 9.2 million denars were invested.
The state of the highway at the three sections is in a very bad condition. Apart from the wavelike asphalt, part of the road has holes and is hindering the traffic. At the same time, these three sections from the Corridors 8 and 10 have a high frequency of vehicles where the section Petrovec-Hipodrom during 2017 was the most frequently used section in the country with average daily traffic of 16.099 vehicles.
