The Greek Church “is praying” for their sister BOC not to become the MOC’s mother church

-

The Holy Archaeological Synod of the Greek Church at yesterday’s meeting reviewed the BOC’s decision to accept the request, as the statement said, “to the schismatic church” to assume the role of “mother church”.

“On this occasion, the Holy Synod expresses concern, because of the fact of interference, with that decision, made by the Bulgarian Orthodox Church in the jurisdiction of another Orthodox Church, i.e. of the Serbian Orthodox Church, an act that is contrary to the sacred canons and the tradition of the church. Therefore, overwhelming the canon law and the leading role of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, which may be the beginning of unwillingness”, said the statement.

The Holy Archaeological Synod of the Greek Church states that they are “praying for conscience to prevail, and the decision of the sister Bulgarian Orthodox Church is not finally implemented”.
