The new government in it’s second session, which was held today, decided to initiate proceedings for the dismissal of the Attorney General, Marko Zvrlevski.
The government announced this afternoon the decision to dismiss Zvrlevski was made due to the illegal and untimely execution of his function as Attorney General, and the proposal, says the statement, will be submitted to the Council of Public Prosecutors, who will have to give their opinion on the matter.
In the last few days, the new Prime Minister Zoran Zaev said he had expected Zvrlevski to resign on his own, because the current Attorney General is “one of the symbols of the usurped just state”.
