The Judge from the preliminary hearing rejected the requests from the Special Public Prosecution for pre-trial detention for Goran Grujovski, and other precautionary measures for four of the other suspects in the “Fortress” case, including former Interior Minister, Gordana Januloska.
The Judge, Aleksandra Pop-Stefanova acting upon the requests from the SPO, based her decision, as can been seen by her ruling to reject the measure for pre-trial custody because of the SPO’s limited jurisdiction. To be more precise, the SPO did not present the actual recording of the conversation which the “Fortress” case is based on.
The questioning of Jankuloska and the other three suspects had no outcome because the Judge fell ill during the
questioning of the former Interior Minister, and in the meantime President Gjorgi Ivanov pardoned 56 politicians and their close associates.
