The company that will be cleaning the smaller lindane depot at former Macedonian chemical plant OHIS will be known by the end of May

-

By the end of May, the name of the company that will be cleaning the lindane from the smaller depot located in the yard of the former OHIS plant will be known, said Naser Nuredini, the Minister of Environment, for Meta.mk.

He stressed that due to the situation with the Covid’19 epidemic, the process of evaluation of the offers have not been evaluated yet for the tender published by the Organization for industrial development at the United Nations (UNIDO). The tender seeks a company that will clean the dangerous chemical that is placed at a unsafe location in the yard of the former chemical plant. UNIDO is still working on the evaluation of the received offers.

The deadline for the cleaning of the smaller depot with toxic lindane is expiring by the end of next year. The process at the smaler depot may last for 18 months which is highly probable that the deadlines will be breached and extended.
