Тhe Candidates for Presidents at Basic courts and the Supreme Court will be Extraordinary Assessed

The Panel of Judges at today’s session decided to carry out an extraordinary assessment of candidates for presidents of the Basic court Skopje I, the Supreme Court and the basic courts in Tetovo and Shtip.

At the session, which was closed to the public, the members of the Panel discussed for three hours about the need of extraordinary assessment of the candidates for presidents of courts and the conditions at the Basic court Skopje I after recent scandals.

The president of the Panel of Judges. Zoran Karadzovski, after the session stated that the Law for the Panel of Judges allows this sort of extraordinary assessment of the presidential candidates and this decision was made because in the last two years, and in accordance with the new Law for the Panel of Judges, there was no evaluation of judges.

According to Karadzovski, the judges will be evaluated for their work during the year 2015 and until the announcement of vacancies for presidential candidates for courts, i.e. until the 7th of October.
