The patient who died today at the Clinic for Infectious diseases aged 24, had no previous chronic diseases, said the Director of the Clinic for Infectious Diseases, Dr. Milena Stevanovik. This is the first case when a patient at a young age such as this to lose the battle with COVID-19.
-The patient had a fever, faintness, cough, and shortness of breath. She was treated for one week by a family doctor, with an infusion in a period of four days. Due to the persistence of symptoms, she reported in a hospital in Tetovo. A test was conducted and she was tested positive. The patient was hospitalized. With a difficult clinical picture, she was transferred to a clinic in Skopje, with low saturation and shortness of breath. During her treatment at the clinic, all types of treatment were applied and a certain improvement was noticed. This was of short duration and the situation worsened with clinical signs of heart failure and pulmonary embolism. Despite all of the treatment measures taken in cooperation with a cardiologist, the patient succumbed to the disease – informed the director.
She also said that the patient had no previously reported data about previous chronic diseases.
