Now is the time to put a stop to the political crisis, and to start discussing a date for elections, now is the time when we all need to work together, said the leader of the DPA, Menduh Thaci after his meeting with Victoria Nuland, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs at the US Department of State.
When asked by journalists whether there will be a leaders’ meeting after Nuland’s visit, Thaci said that he is not “a fortune teller” however, it is reasonable to expect such a meeting.
Nuland first met with the DUI leader Ali Ahmeti, who did not give a statement.
After meeting with Thaci, Nuland went to the headquarters of the SDSM and met with Zoran Zaev. After her meeting with the leader of the opposition, she is expected to meet with the leader of the VMRO-DPMNE, Nikola Gruevski, at the headquarters of the ruling party.
