At 11 am, ambient air pollution in Tetovo is very high, and in Skopje and Bitola is high. In Tetovo, level of carcinogens PM10 particles was 237 micrograms per cubic meter, which is almost five times more than the allowed 50 micrograms.
Except in Bitola, high level of PM10 particles is observed in Skopje municipalities Centar, Lisiche, Gazi Baba, Karposh and measuring station Rektorat. Intermediate level of pollution can be found in Miladinovci, Kichevo, Veles and Kavadarci. In Centar there is a moderate level, while Karposh high level of PM2.5 particles.
The highest degree of pollution was observed in the late evening hours, when, in 10 pm, monitoring stations in Lisiche and Tetovo showed concentrations of PM10 particles of nearly 600 micrograms per cubic meter, which is 12 times more than allowed.
In case of exceeding the threshold of 50 micrograms per cubic meter of PM10 particles, and in the last five days, the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning issued a warning to use public transport and vehicles not be used without increasing need, more people to travel in one car at a time, synthetic material not to be used for heating of rooms and wood stoves to be properly used.
