Taxi drivers from Gevgelija block the border and the city

-

Around 250 buses and taxi drivers from Gevgelija at noon began a two-hour blockade at the border crossing point. They want to be involved in the transport of migrants after the recent deal they made with authorities.

Besides blocking traffic in both directions at the border crossing, for an hour they also obstructed access to the city.

The reason for the protest is that the past two days, the agreement was not respected for the equal transportation of migrants with “Macedonian Railways”.

According to the agreement, at the meeting of the Coordinating Body for dealing with crises, taxis and buses are supposed to transport migrants by day and at night, the trains are supposed to transport them.
