Tamara to get an article in the law!

-

Ognen Janeski, journalist and activist, proposes adoption of “Tamara’s article”, which will protect all future cases of children and people suffering from a rare disease, or have urgent health problems.

He announced this idea on the protest for Tamara which was held on Saturday in Veles. Janeski says this way Tamara will be remembered, and will also save the lives of many children and people who have a problem.

– The idea is more symbolic and should be developed, for example, what to include in that article. Once reviewed the laws, I think that “Tamara’s article” could be an article for the bureaucratic procedures, of course, to be much shorter than they are now. Still, bureaucracy is one of the reasons for Tamara’s death. This is only the initial atmosphere that is yet to be elaborated – Janeski said, adding that they already have a team of lawyers who want to help.

The Ministry of Health today did not answer the question whether they considered the idea and whether they intend to implement the initiative.

However, eve the Ministry to decide it does not want to accept this initiative, constitutional law professor Osman Kadriu said that citizens themselves can apply for change or for the adoption of a law, but the procedure for it was very long.

– If citizens want to submit this initiative, they will need to collect 10,000 signatures by local units in the Ministry of Justice. Also, someone of MPs, of solidarity, wants to take responsibility and he, as an MP, to file an initiative for change of an article or an entire law, it will shorten the procedure – said Kadriu.

Professor Karolina Ristova-Asterud some time ago on her profile on the social network “Facebook” wrote: “Laws are named after departed children as victims of various inconsiderate and nonhumans. I know first hand for two such laws in the United States, Amber Alert and Megan’s Law. These are the names of girls, and I even think of the same age as Tamara. There is a law which is associated with the so-called “Lorenzo’s Oil”, and in Italy, the legislation related to organ donation was called “The gift of Nicholas”.
