Strahil Angelov condemned Stanishev’s presence at the protests in Skopje

-

The leader of the Party of European Socialists and former president of the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) Sergei Stanishev fails to justify his presence at anti-government protests in Skopje, said Strahil Angelov, former BSP MP.

– If Bulgaria had something to protest in Skopje, it is the anti-Bulgarian propaganda, which is unprecedentedly carried out by Macedonian Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski. Also, we must not forget all those monuments that flooded Skopje, as well as all the statements and conclusions of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts – said Angelov.

Commenting on the recent statement by the head of Russian diplomacy Sergey Lavrov, Angelov said that there is historical truth in it because it speaks of the division of Macedonia, but also that Serbia and Greece were not included.

– The situation is much more complex. People argue that the protests started after the government signed a financial agreement with China. You know that China launched several investments in Macedonia which are connected with the transport corridor. A month ago, there was a meeting in Budapest, and the route of pipeline “Turkish progress” passes through Macedonia. It is the Achilles’ heel of the route – said former Bulgarian MP.
