Stojkovski: Professors from “Professorial plenum” accept meeting with Ademi

-

Rector Velimir Stojkovski swiftly responded to the letter from “Professorial plenum”. He claims to take the side of the faculties and the professors, but, regarding a public debate, he says that the meeting with the Minister and the professors scheduled for tomorrow is sufficient. Therefore, there was no need for a televised debate, reports “Fokus”.
In the letter, rector writes that the purpose of the rector and the professors is common – quality higher education and European and world standards, where the student is the central subject:
– In that regard, I assure you that the bodies of the University are doing what they can do within the legal framework, to listen to our arguments regarding the aforementioned proposals. Therefore, in a situation where we all demand a debate and to our voice to be heard, and you, as a Professorial plenum, publicly announced that today (request for TV debate), I don’t see a difference between the public TV debate and the debate at the meeting proposed by the Minister of Education and Science, especially because five representatives of Professorial plenum, who accepted the invitation, were invited to the meeting. I do not see why one would be “futile” and the other would not. Why the debate within the Inter-University Conference would be “post festum”, and the TV debate would not be?
Respected Colleagues, please let us remain within academic frameworks and at the level of our profession, and our strength to be the strength of arguments, for everyone’s benefit – says Rector Stojkovski.
