Still no solutions as media reform negotiations drag on today

-

Last nights marathon talks between the working groups of the political parties on media reform ended with no results. Belgian mediator Peter Vanhaute after last night’s talks over the media, tweeted two tweets at 2:00am.

In his first tweet he wrote: “After long negotiations, it is time for creative solutions: sleep. Talks on media continue tomorrow. ”

In his second tweet, he shared a picture of a cat that says: “The situation is hopeless, but not very serious.” He shared the image with the text: “The negotiations ended for the night. There is still much to be done. ”

Yesterday afternoon the US Ambassador to Macedonia Jess Baily and EU Ambassador Aivo Orav arrived at the MPs Clubhouse for the meeting for additional pressure to resolve the media issue by Friday, which is the latest date provided in the agreement.

So far, VMRO-DPMNE still remains committed to undertake any European law and to implement it into the national legislation, while SDSM and the AJM accept Vanhoutte’s proposal.
