The unemployment rate in the first quarter this year in Macedonia is 27.3 percent, according to the State Statistical Office. 262,140 people are unemployed and 697,248 people are employed.
Most of the unemployed in the first quarter were men, i.e. 62.8 percent of the total active population in the country, while 37.2 percent were women.
By age, most unemployed, 166,414 are aged 25 to 49 years. According to education, the most numerous among the unemployed are people with secondary education.
Of the total number of employees in the country, the largest, i.e. 540,669, are employed in the private sector, while 156,579 in other property.
