SSNM: To make it possible for journalists to have basic working conditions

-

The Independent Union of Journalists and Media Workers (SSNM) strongly protest the treatment of journalists and media workers from the political elite, as was proven yesterday afternoon before the MPs Clubhouse, where media representatives were left for hours waiting outside the building in the cold.

“The union wishes to recall that such a relationship which is continuously repeated, is not the proper attitude towards  the journalists and the media, but also to the general public, which just shows how politics appreciates its own citizens and their right to be informed. The cynicism of the political elite in their disparaging and derogatory terms are even greater, because yesterday they were meant to negotiate about the SEC, but also for the media, the same media whose representatives were left outside for hours in the cold to await the results of negotiations. SSNM asks that all politicians and institutions in the future to provide basic conditions for work and we want to remind you that we are prepared to strongly raise our voices to the domestic and international community about the ways in which media workers are treated by the politics this country has created”, said the statement from the SSNM .
