Graduates who protested and boycotted classes will fill applications for state graduation, but won’t end their boycott of classes. They say that the applications will be signed technically, just formally, but they stand behind the requirements because there is no compromise with the authorities.
They announced protests for the next three days, which will begin at 5 pm in front of the Ministry of Education and Science.
– The signing of the applications does not mean that we give up on our fight. On the contrary, if we, the graduates, sign these applications means that, unlike MES, we are reasonable and we want to pass the graduation on time and we want to be academically citizens that will be successful in their country. We had two requirements that are persistent, understandable and reasonable. With the signing, we do not give up, do not abandon younger students, but we will sign because we want to finish the school year on time and because we care for our education. However, we will stay here, the boycott will continue and all generations will remain united until we have won our fight for better education. The fact that we are out of school for almost 25 days is on the ministry because we were available for negotiations even before the first high school march. We do not want it, but they didn’t leave us much choice – says high school student Kalina Prelik.
“High school plenum” said that the schools were visited by civilians introducing as inspectors without an identity card who, according to the high school students, were trying to intimidate students with fines of 2,000 euros and were trying to take personal information from them as a personal identification number, name, address and profession of their parents. But students say they will not succumb to such pressures and that such threats only motivate them to be even more united.
