In the two-day official visit to Macedonia, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu had a tete-a-tete meeting with his host, Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski. After the meeting, at a press conference, Gruevski said that Republic of Turkey is a longtime friend of Macedonia and unreservedly supports the country in its Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
– We respect the fact that Republic of Turkey gives principled and valued support to our state and national interests. With my colleague, we happily concluded that progress has been made in the efforts, not only in political, but in economic cooperation as well – said Gruevski.
The two prime ministers agreed that economic cooperation should be promoted, and the intention in the forthcoming period is the trade to amount over billion dollars.
– Our trade in the first ten months amounted to 375 million dollars, but, by the end of the year, we expect to amount 450 million. We are determined to reach one billion as soon as possible – said Davutoğlu.
This afternoon, the Turkish Prime Minister will also meet with President Gjorge Ivanov, and he will also hold a lecture at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
