In the new, amended announcement of the Serbian Orthodox Church for the visit of Russian Metropolitan Hilarion to Skopje, FYROM is replaced by R. Macedonia, but the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric is still categorized with the terms “self-proclaimed” and “non-canonical”.
After the visit of Metropolitan Hilarion, Holy Synod of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric said that he accepts the initiative of the Russian Orthodox Church to contribute to the recovery and successful realization of dialogue between MOC – OA and the Serbian Orthodox Church and asked Macedonian authorities for mercy towards former Bishop Jovan Vranishkovski, on account of, as noted, higher purposes.
In Skopje, g. Hilarion met with the head of the MOC – OA, g.g. Stefan, President Gjorgje Ivanov and Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski.
