SPO: Equipment For UBK Was Bought Through Krpač’s Company “Finzi”

-

The Special Public Prosecutor’s Office has opened a new investigation code-named “Vault”,  regarding  financial crimes. Prosecutor Fatime Fetai said that the case is about serious abuse of funds from the budget of the Republic of Macedonia.

“From the evidence obtained for this case, these funds were taken from the budget and were used for personal gain and greed. Currently, the investigation is being carried out on the grounds of suspicion of three employees from the Security and Counterintelligence Agency (UBK) and one other individual employed in the Ministry of Interior, who worked for the benefit of a legal person from “Finzi” LTD. We suspect that the damage to the budget of the Republic of Macedonia from this scheme is 863,045 euros. From July 2010 until the end of 2012, the first three suspects used their official positions and purchased equipment for UBK, through the company “Finzi”, said Fetai.

The manager of “Finzi” LTD was the late Kosta Krpač who a few months ago committed suicide however, circumstances were suspicious.

This is the first case of financial crime which stems from the wiretapped recordings.
