Today, the Special Prosecutor’s Office (SPO) announced that at noon they be will holding a new press conference to the media. They didn’t announce what is going to be discussed at the press conference or whether they will be presenting a new investigation.
The SPO held their last press conference on November the 8th, last year when they presented the “Target” case and revealed that 5.817 telephone numbers had been illegally wiretapped by the Administration for Security and Counterintelligence (UBK), from the period between 2008 and 2015, using its systems for monitoring communications.
The last two cases that were opened by the SPO, “Tank” and “Tariff” were not presented at a press conference, instead, the SPO informed the media by issuing a press release.
The “Tank” case investigated the acquisition of a “Mercedes” vehicle worth 600.000 euros and was purchased by the former Primer Minister, while the “Tariff” case is an investigation of the public procurement of software acquired for the needs of “Macedonian Power Plants Ltd.” (ELEM) for the amount of 4.092.420 euros, and it was never put to use, causing damage to the state.
