Parliament adopts laws from the Przhino Agreement

-

MPs in the plenary session voted in laws, which political parties signatory to the Przhino Agreement agreed upon on Friday.

MPa voted in a shortened procedure for amendments to the Electoral Code, to the Criminal Procedure Code, the Law on Privacy, the Law to protect “Whistle-blowers” and the Law on Government.

The biggest debate took place whilst voting on the Diaspora and the Law on the Protection of Privacy. Some MPs believe that the Law on Privacy is a disastrous law that will harm the citizens.

The last item on the agenda was the Law on Government, which specifies the appointment of new Ministers and Deputy Ministers or partial. Up until this point the Deputies did not debate and passed the Law with 98 votes “for”, 8 were “restraint” and none voted “Against”.

The next step is the signing of the decree by President Gjorge Ivanov, then the Government is expected to propose new Ministers who will be selected and will have to swear an Oath of Office in Parliament.

According to unofficial sources, tomorrow it is expected that the Government will hold a session to propose new Ministers, Oliver Spasovski for Minister of Interior and Frosina Remenski as Minister for Labour and Social Policy.

Unofficially we learned that the new Minister of Information Society and Administration, replacing Ivo Ivanovski will be the current Deputy Minister, Marta Arsovska Tomovska.
