The Director of the State Statistical Office, Apostol Simovski said that the decision for organizing snap parliamentary elections on the 12th of April will jeopardize the term planned for conducting the census of the population, households and the apartments.
-The period during April is inconvenient for the implementation of the census taking into account the elections that have been called and the census itself will have to be prolonged. The possibility of implementing a census before the elections is technically impossible since the census is an enormous operation and it is impossible for the organization to implement that before April – said Simovski.
He didn’t say when and how the census will be implemented since the Parliament will have to pass a Law on Census, by a decision of the Government since it is proposed by the Justice Ministry.
