In the period from March to June, an average of 7 articles daily were published on the topic of “desorosization”, that is, the continuing smear campaigns and attacks on civil society organizations, the Foundation Open Society Macedonia (FOSM), George Soros, USAID, the US Ambassador to the Republic of Macedonia, Jess Baily and more, according to an analysis conducted by the “NGO Info-Centre”.
After the formation of the SDSM-led government, the intensity of articles dropped drastically, to an average of 2 texts a day, however, the smear campaign continued, according to the analysis of the report from March to November, 2017.
The “NGO Info-Centre” reports that media close to VMRO-DPMNE published 80% of the total number of texts, ie on average they published three articles daily, and in the first four months, this average went up to six articles per day.
According to these media outlets, the biggest enemies to Macedonia are George Soros, his Foundation and civil society organizations. Most of the articles published in the media close to VMRO-DPMNE were anonymous and often the same text was reprinted in various portals and newspapers”, shows the research.
