Skopje, Kichevo and Tetovo are suffocating again, air is seven times more polluted than allowed

At 3 pm, the pollution in Skopje with PM 10 particles is 372 micrograms per cubic meter, which is almost seven times more than the allowed 50 micrograms.

There is an enormous concentration of these particles in Skopje municipalities Centar, Karposh, Lisiche and Gazi Baba. In almost all of the municipalities, the concentration of PM 10 particles exceeds 400 micrograms per cubic meter.

There is also a high pollution in Kichevo and Tetovo, and there are PM 10 particles above permitted levels in Veles, Kochani and Kavadarci.

Also, a high level of PM 2,5 particles was registered in Centar and Karposh.

In case of exceeding the threshold of 50 micrograms per cubic meter of PM10 particles in five consecutive days, the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning should issue a warning to for using public transport, vehicles cannot be used without a pressing need, more people should be transported in one car, synthetic material shouldn’t be used to heat rooms and wood stoves should be properly used.

Usually, the concentration of PM10 particles reaches the maximum level in the evening, from 10 pm until 1 am.
