Shilegov: The Government spent 5,000 euros per square meter in the project “Skopje 2014”

-

Nikola Gruevski, Zoran Stavreski, Elizabeta Kancheska-Milevska won’t explain why the Government spent approximately 80 million for just six story garages, accusing SDSM spokesman Petre Shilegov. “Of course they will hide, when no sound logic can explain the fact that 50,000 euros were spent per parking place,” said Shilegov.

– Let’s see how much they spent per square meter in plaster facade buildings. Up to staggering 5,500 euros per square meter. The building of the Old Theatre was built on 7,200 square meters. 39 million euros were spent for it, which means that one square meter costs us 5,000 euros. 3,000 euros per square meter were spent for the Museum of VMRO, while we also pay nearly the same sum for the Philharmonic and the National Archives. One square meter in AEC costs incredible 3,000 euros. For comparison, the average price of an apartment in Skopje, according to the State Office, is 900 euros per square meter – blames Shilegov.

He asks: if we consider that the construction cost of apartments is 300 to 500 euros per square meter, what was the Government doing for 3,000 to 4,000 euros per square meter.
