Families of the killed police officers will receive 70,000 euros in damages

Financial compensation of 70,000 euros will be awarded to the families of the killed police officers, the government decided at a session held on Monday evening.

The worst wounded policeman will receive financial compensation of 40,000 euros, while four policemen that were severely injured and hospitalized at the Clinic for Anesthesiology, Reanimation and Intensive Care, and are under intensive care, will be granted financial compensation of 35,000 euros.

The nineteen officers, who have already been operated for severe injuries or have severe injuries, will receive 25,000 euros.

The other thirteen policemen who were injured and wounded in action will be compensated with financial compensation of 15,000 euros.

The members of the Unit for Special Operations Group and members of the Rapid Deployment Unit, who were involved in the police operation in Kumanovo, will be granted financial compensation in the amount of 10,000 euros. The compensation will be awarded to the members of the helicopter unit that took part in the action and the professionals from headquarters that led the action in Kumanovo.

The members of the Special Police Unit, who were involved in the police operation in Kumanovo, will be granted financial compensation in the amount of 5,000 euros.

The government also obligated the Ministry of Interior to submit information with a proposal for the amount of financial compensation to members of the regular police engaged in Kumanovo police station, who were on duty during the action, on the next government session.

Medical personnel engaged during the police action in Kumanovo, at the Emergency Centre Complex clinics “Mother Teresa”, at the City General Hospital “September 8” – Skopje, at the University Clinic for Surgical Diseases “St. Naum Ohridski” – Skopje, at City General Hospital in Kumanovo, at ER in Skopje, at ER in Kumanovo, and teams of ER from Shtip, Veles, Sveti Nikole engaged in Kumanovo, will receive financial compensation in the amount of one monthly salary per medical workers.

At the last session, on which the item regarding the events in Kumanovo was reviewed, the government established a committee to assess the damage to immovable and movable property in the area where the action took place. Within one week, Commission should go on the field and to prepare and submit a report on the assessment of damage to the Government. The Commission is composed of representatives of the Government and the Municipality of Kumanovo.

The government has decided to perform compensation of immovable and movable property in the amount of 100 percent of the estimated damage listed in the report of the Commission.

It adopted a decision to provide housing for those families whose homes were damaged in the action to the extent that does not allow living conditions in them or to receive compensation for the lease of other premises in the period during the repairs.

All families will receive a one-time initial humanitarian aid worth 100,000 denars per unit damaged home in the measure that does not allow living conditions.

The government decided competent state utility, medical and sanitary institutions, in cooperation with the Municipality of Kumanovo and Skopje, to clear the way in order the necessary utilities and sanitation to be provided.
