Selmani: VMRO-DPMNE and SDSM are both trying to undermine Vanhoutte’s proposals for the media

-

Neither the draft law proposed by SDSM is not acceptable to the Association of Journalists of Macedonia. According to the President of the AJM Naser Selmani, VMRO-DPMNE and SDSM are undermining the proposal of the Belgian facilitator Peter Vanhoutte in a join effort to reform the media system.
On his Facebook profile wrote that SDSM’s amendments can be seen miles away that they have nothing to do with the proposals of the mediator.
“What’s especially absurd, is the idea from SDSM that professional standards and ethics to be regulated by the law. A media crackdown with penalties and fines for violating professional standards do not exist in any democratic country. SDSM are trying to sell their bad solutions for the media and are trying to present them as solutions of the mediator. With such a conscious manipulation, they gave space for VMRO-DPMNE’s media propaganda machinery to impudently attack Vanhoutte. In this case the AJM was collateral damage. We were accused of supporting the proposals from the SDSM, without being asked about our position on the matter. VMRO-DPMNE and SDSM have different names but share the same ideology – they both want to be the boss!”, says Mr Selmani.
AJM for today at 12:00 scheduled a press conference regarding the media law, which will take place before MPs Clubhouse in Skopje.
