SEC will return 30,000 disputed voters to the electoral register for local elections

The disputed voters which were deleted from the electoral list for the parliamentary elections held on December the 11th, last year, will be put back on the electoral register for the local elections which will be held in May, confirmed the SEC for “Meta”.

At the time of the early parliamentary elections, a total of 30,447 of voters were considered as disputed, after cross-checks inspections could not find the names.

SEC told “Meta” that more than 30,000 voters will be returned to the voter lists because that it what was stipulated by the provisions of the Electoral Code.

“The provisions of the Electoral Code passed in 2016, were valid only for the early parliamentary elections held on December the 11th, but the final results, these provisions are void. These 30,000 voters will again be returned to the list if they meet the legal requirements, that is, above all, to be alive, to have an identity card and the legal capacity to vote”, said ” Ljupka Guguchevska, a spokeswoman for the SEC for “Meta”.
