Today, the State Election Commission handed over certificates for the received seats to the political parties’ authorized representatives. At the early parliamentary reflections, the coalition led by VMRO-DPMNE won 51 MPs, the coalition led by SDSM, 49, DUI 10, Besa Movement 5, Alliance for the Albanians – 3 and DPA – 2 MP seats.
The president of the SEC, Aleksandar Chichakovski, said that the report concerning the conducted elections will be delivered to Parliament in the course of the day. Apart from Parliament, a report will be submitted to the Agency for Audio and Audio-visual Services and will be published on the official website of the SEC.
Chichakovski once again said that the elections were conducted in accordance to legislation and were carried out in a fair and democratic atmosphere.
Stefan Bogoev, a representative from SDSM said that the party’s viewpoint is that Parliament should convene as soon as possible so a Government can be formed.
“Due to the delicacy of the situation in which Macedonia is in at the moment, I would like to stress that our position is that Parliament should convene as soon as possible for a constitutive session so the new government is formed faster, because, as we saw from previous elections, the citizens voted for change and they are expecting changes. That is why I would like to emphasize that we are expecting Parliament to convene as soon as possible, so the new government is selected and Macedonia can finally move forward”, said Bogoev.
Arber Ademi from DUI said that everyone should focus on the reform process in order for the country to return to its Euro-Atlantic path and he expects Parliament and the Government to work for the benefit of all.
The constitution of Parliament should take place no later than December the 31st i.e. 20 days after the elections were held.
