The State Election commission this afternoon accepted a complaint by Besa and abolished the votes at a polling station in Gostivar where someone who has signed instead of Fatime Sulejmani as was stated by an official graphologist.
-With 6 votes for and 3 against, Besa’s complaint was accepted. I find that SEC has brought a decision that the vote should be abolished. The voting will be repeated only if the total number of voters at the polling station is influencing the final result at the elections. The graphological examination was performed by Marina Sovrevska, a graphology engineer and she concluded that the problematic signature stating the name of Fatime Sulejmani was not authentic and compliant with the non-problematic signatures by the person Fatime Sulejmani i.e. it wasn’t signed by her – as was stated by SEC’s president.
Silvana Boneva of VMRO-DPMNE said that the decision to use a graphologist was against the Election Code and that decision was out of all legal regulations.
Igor Milev of SDSM replied to her and said anything that wasn’t forbidden by law is allowed. There is no ban for SEC to make a decision based on graphological examination.
At the start of today’s session, the authorized representative of SDSM withdrew two complaints that refer to polling stations in the municipality of Tetovo, the 6th electoral district.
In front of SEC’s offices at noon, when the session was set to start, a hundred supporters of VMRO-DPMNE gathered, as they said, “to defend the victory at the elections.”
