The domestic and international community expect a statesman behavior on part of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia and by the institution President of the state, that will have to allow a new government to be formed, said SDSM.

“The Macedonian general public has heard from an MP of the European Parliament, and who was here in Macedonia along with the EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn, that Nikola Gruevski was determined to go “all the way” because he didn’t “want to go to jail.” This is confirmation from Gruevski himself, everything we have been warning about, that he is deepening the crisis only out of personal interests. It is inadmissible that the citizens and the Republic of Macedonia to be hostages of Gruevski’s fears,” said SDSM.

SDSM also adds that through the country’s institutions a new president of Parliament will be elected and he will notify President Ivanov that he is obliged to assign the mandate for forming the government to the leader of SDSM, Zoran Zaev.
