SDSM and VMRO-DPMNE argue over party headquarters

-

Today the ruling VMRO-DPMNE and the opposition SDSM fought over which party has a larger head-quarters. Both major parties in the country challenged each other by saying one of the party headquarters should be given as student living quarters.

“The property of SDSM’s head-quarters is the property of the Ministry of Education. The Party inherited it from their successors, the League of Communists, adopting it as their own, and made it their own party headquarters. We ask that the SDSM immediately return the building to the State and so the Government can renovate and adapt it into a new student dorm, where there would be room to place 250 students from the heart of Macedonia”, said at a press conference Koce Gavrilov, a member of the Union of Youth of VMRO-DPMNE.
The opposition responded that VMRO-DPMNE should give up their luxurious building in down-town Skopje for a student dorm.
“The UMS (Union for the Youth) unsuccessfully wants to cover-up the property scandal, property of VMRO-DPMNE, worth 11 million euros, which the party gained the majority in 2014. How did VMRO-DPMNE manage to acquire 63 facilities around the country, with nearly 12,000 square meters, worth 11 million euros? These are false and hypocritical concerns for the UMS, the students and the youth. Because of VMRO-DPMNE’s care, the youth seek a better future outside Macedonia”, reacted to the opposition.
