The SDSM party has filed a lawsuit with the Administrative Court to dispute the decision to form the Commission for the impeachment of President Gjorgi Ivanov. The opposition party says, the formation of the Commission for the accountability of Ivanov, they asked Parliament Speaker Trajko Veljanoski to ensure that the rules and procedures are enforced, but he has done nothing.

“Given that Parliament Speaker, Trajko Veljanoski has done nothing to protect the Rules and Procedures of Parliament, today SDSM has filed a lawsuit at the Administrative Court. The lawsuit will challenge the decision for the formation of the Commission for the impeachment as it is contrary to Article 206, act 2 from the Rules and Procedures of Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia. Regulation of Article 206, act 2 from the Rules and Procedures dictates: The Commission for Impeachment has a Chairman and ten members, who are elected and appointed by Parliament, ensuring adequate representation of parliamentary groups and MPs who are not organized by the parliamentary groups”, said Deskoska.

She added that the judges from the Administrative Court have the responsibility to either continue to follow Gruevski’s orders, or to perform their functions for which they were selected – to enforce the law and to contribute to restoring the rule of law in Macedonia.
