SDSM are demanding the resignation of the Mayor of Skopje Koce Trajanovski after trees were cut down, which occurred after midnight around 2:30am in the park of “St. Cyril and Methodius.”
“While citizens are choking in the unclean air fro days, the executor for Nikola Gruevski, Koce Trajanovski continues his massacre of trees in Skopje. Koce Trajanovski, Nikola Gruevski’s agent, must resign immediately”, said a statement from the SDSM.
The party evoked reactions from students and citizens, and believes they should hold on to the old look and stop plans to build baroque style faculties.
The City of Skopje meanwhile, sent a statement of denying SDSM’s claims and it says that the PE “Parks and Greenery” did not cut the trees on the University campus.
“Regarding the unfounded accusations of deforestation activities, we want to clarify that the City of Skopje is obligated, in accordance with the law, to issue a decision on cutting trees, like when an investor applies for a a building permit, for the implementation of the Detailed Urban Plan”, said the the Mayor’s office statement of denial.
