The agreement of 2nd of June, made during a meeting at the residence of EU Ambassador Aivo Orav in Skopje Przhino must be respected, recommended EU Commissioner Johannes Hahn after the meeting with Fatmir Besimi.
The same was recommended by US Ambassador Jess Bailey at the meeting with DUI leader Ali Ahmeti.
But SDSM said that, without a transitional government, that agreement is invalid.
– Our key requirement was a transitional government, and without it there is no agreement – said SDSM spokesman Petre Shilegov.
The agreement of 2nd of June at the residence of the European Union was publicly announced by DUI and it contains the following items:
- Until 10th of June, the parties will agree on the concrete organization of the government which will prepare elections;
- SDSM will returned to the Assembly and will manage the parliamentary inquiry commission established for the wiretapping scandal. Commissions for detection and intervention in communications will also be managed by SDSM and begin work examining failures in the supervision and operation of the state intelligence service;
- The first report of this commissions will be ready in November 2015;
- With immediate effect, there will be no further publication of any material from wiretapping. Upon the return of SDSM to the Assembly, all materials held by SDSM or any other, will be submitted to the Public Prosecution for urgent procedure;
- In the middle of June and in the end of August 2015, the EU will facilitate inter-party dialogue (open to all parties represented at the Assembly) for reaching an agreement on issues of structural reforms;
- This agreement will include reforms to be undertaken in the field of chapters 23 and 24, advocacy and independent functioning of the national authorities, greater media freedom and full compliance with the views and recommendations of the Venice Commission.
